

Once all the teachers had read the books, we created a display featuring all of the VSBA nominated books. Voting was done across the state of Tennessee. Each letter represented is quite large, but the little “peas” going about their activities are arranged around the letters so that the letters actually become the background for the picture. We’re farmers, flaggers, and best friends in a band.” An example of this is “We’re eaters, electricians, and explorers searching land. The memorable literary element in this book is the way the author used the element of alliteration, as well as rhyming, to make the book flow. I love this book! It is so bright and colorful and fun to read! I think that this is a book that young children would definitely want to read over and over again!


The alphabet is presented in a unique way as a group of peas fills readers in on their occupations and interests all coordinating with the different letters of the alphabet.
